This winter, many sports will be taking place, such as boys’ and girls’ Basketball(JV and Varsity), boys’ and girls’ indoor track, boys’ and girls’ swimming and diving, and Boys’ Wrestling(JV and Varsity). Last year, the Varsity Boys’ basketball team (2023-2024) went 7-14 and made it to the regional quarter-finals but unfortunately lost.
Last year, the Boys’ Varsity Basketball team had only two seniors, Austin Raborg and Mehki Mitchell. Even with only two seniors, the team did quite well. The team also had three juniors, three sophomores, and one freshman. Considering the team only had two seniors and still made it to the regional quarter-finals, they have a bright outlook for this season. The first game this year(2024-2025) is on Friday, December 6th, 2024 against Quince Orchard at Quince Orchard at 7:15 pm.
Last year the boys’ JV basketball team had a record of 9-6 and had only three sophomores and 14 freshmen. All those freshmen make up for the two seniors who have graduated. It will be quite exciting to see all the new freshmen playing this year. The first game is also on Friday, December 6th, 2024 at 5:30 pm against Quince Orchard.
Last year, the girls’ Varsity basketball team made it to the state quarter-finals but sadly lost. Their record last year was an impressive 20-3. The team had three seniors, five juniors, one sophomore, and 2 freshmen. The three seniors, Ava Rendleman, Janelle Lee, and Carrie Gottesman must have had an exciting season but an unfortunate ending. Just like the Boys’ varsity basketball team, the girls do well for having only three seniors. This year the first game is home against Quince Orchard at 7:15 pm on Friday, December 6th, 2024.
Last year, the girls’ JV basketball team had two juniors, six sophomores, and two freshmen. The two Juniors, Kaitlyn Tregoning and Samantha Shadid led the team to a record of 8-6, which is a winning season. Their first game this year is a home game against Quince Orchard at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6th, 2024.
The boys’ Varsity Swim and dive team were 1-4 last year. They were led by seniors, Drew Beobout, Sean Lim, Ryan Park, and Timothy Tomlinson. The team only lost three seniors, which is good for the team because plenty of other young swimmers are ready to go.
Last year, the girls’ varsity swim and dive team was also 1-4, just like the boys. The team was led by seniors Viviana Aubley, Sophia Iorio, Cora Klemann, Natalie Opincar, Colette Stokes, and Madison Story, who are many seniors. The team will still do well with all these seniors gone because of the 5 juniors, 11 sophomores, and 9 freshmen.
Last year, the boys’ Varsity wrestling team went 18-1, which is amazing. The team was led by four seniors: Sean Spillers
, Bryan Silva, Kevin Carr, and Jake Ehret. They went all the way to the state dual finals but unfortunately lost. However, they did win the state dual semifinals, which is still impressive.
The junior varsity wrestling team was 1-2 last year, having attended 8 meets but only gaining results from 3 of them. We are ready to see what the junior varsity team can do this winter.
