AEW is a professional wrestling organization, originating from Jacksonville, Florida and was established by owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Shahid Khan and entrepreneur Tony Khan.
All Elite Wrestling was founded on January 1st, 2019, by Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Cody Rhodes, and Kenny Omega serving as executive vice presidents. In May of 2019, All Elite wrestling signed with Warner Bros Studio and established their weekly television show which is now known as AEW Dynamite.
Ever since this signing and the start of the company, All Elite Wrestling has had many groundbreaking accomplishments. such as having the largest attendance in pro wrestling history, signing some of the greatest talent of all time from all over the world such as Adam Copeland, Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson and Jay White.
In these five action packed years, All Elite Wrestling without a doubt has established themselves as the greatest wrestling company in the world. Working with companies such as NJPW, Impact Wrestling, and Stardom, AEW has put on can’t-miss wrestling events each and every week, in the process creating two other wrestling shows currently known as AEW Rampage, and AEW Collision.
Wrestling fan and math teacher at Damascus High School Mr. Dow gave his opinion on the rising company stating “I like it, I’ve actually been to it two or three times. I think they are more wrestling focused, and WWE is more telling a story focused. But the wrestling itself is better in AEW. Like the moves that the guys are doing, and like, that is better. But the Production and storytelling, WWE has got that.”
In an interview with Cultaholic, All Elite Wrestling star Maxwell Jacob Friedman was asked about the company he works for, and noted “I don’t think ‘Where the Best Wrestle’ is just a catchphrase. I think it’s the truth. I think we have just an insane amount of talent bell to bell.” Max proceeded to state many others on the roster he is excited to go up against.
All Elite Wrestling has made it their mission to appeal to all fans that tune in, whether they are watching for the first time, or have been watching pro wrestling their whole life. In these five years AEW has traveled all over the globe to put on the best show to the fans that are attending and those watching at home.
As of recently, All Elite Wrestling has been traveling around the east coast putting on shows in arenas such as the Capital One Arena, CFG Bank Arena, and the EagleBank Arena. It has been confirmed that AEW is coming back to Washington D.C in early January 2025.
