Boys’ baseball celebrates a win.
Baseball
- Damascus baseball had a great year, with a final record of 18 wins and only five losses. After a great run during the season, the team made it to regionals and won it all with their final game against Magruder, with the final score being 7-3. After regionals, the team made it into the State Playoffs, where they sadly lost to Chesapeake, with the final score of 2-7.
Softball
- Damascus softball made a great run during the season. Only having three losses and 17 wins, the Softball team won regionals against Wootton with a final score of 9-1. After advancing to the State playoffs, they sadly lost to Linganore with a final score of 0-5.
Boys’ Volleyball
- The Damascus Boys’ volleyball team had a good and hard fought run this year; they had a record of six wins and six losses. Despite their record, the boys’ hard work and drive to win stood out, the sportsmanship and courage they gave each other also played a huge part on how they went through games. The Boys Volleyball team sadly lost to Wootton in the first round of the MCPS Boys Volleyball Championships with the final score of 1-3.
Co-ed Volleyball

- This year was the last year for co-ed volleyball in the county. The Damascus co-ed volleyball team had a hard fight for their last season. Despite their record they played great and always had the mindset to win every game. Their courage, positivity, and will to work hard is always easy to see at every game. During the season, they fought against tough teams like JFK having close games with a final score of a 3-2 win against JFK. In the MCPS Coed Volleyball Championships, the team sadly lost against Sherwood with a final score of 0-3.
Boys’ Lacrosse
- The Damascus boys’ lacrosse team had a good run this year with a record of seven wins and six losses. The team had hard fought games, and their mentality was to go into every game winning. The lacrosse team fought in the regional playoff against Walkersville. Sadly the final score of the game ended with a 7-18 loss against Walkersville ending their season.
Girls’ Lacrosse
- The Damascus girls’ lacrosse team had an exciting run this season finishing with a record of eight wins and five losses. During the season the team competed against good teams like Magruder, with their latest game against them ending with a 10-9 win. In the regional playoffs the Girls lacrosse team fought against Glenelg but sadly lost with a final score of 4-18.
Track and Field
- The Damascus boys’ and girls’ track and field team had a very strong season. Their record was two wins and two losses. During the season the boys and girls competed very strongly at every meet, boys ended up breaking new records like the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:28.83. Both the boys and girls track teams made it into states but sadly weren’t able to win it all with many reasons like injuries and small mistakes. All in all the team fought great every meet until the very end.
Boys’ Tennis
- The Damascus boys’ tennis team had a hard fought season with a final record of three wins and seven losses. The tennis team had to face many difficult teams like Rockville and Sherwood. Though the games were hard they never gave up, they finished the game all the way through and never lost hope of trying to win in the end. At the end of the season they fought hard against Magruder with a close and final score of a 4-3 win over them ending their season with a great win.
Girls’ Tennis
- The Damascus girls’ tennis team had a rollercoaster of a season with the team’s final record of two wins and nine losses. The girls tennis team had to face many hard schools like Northwest, Sherwood, and Magruder. During games they never showed any signs of giving up throughout the season, everyone’s mindset on the team was to try and win no matter what at the very end. The team’s final game was against Magruder, sadly losing with a final score of 2-5.
Stunt
- The Damascus stunt team had a fantastic season this year. In its inaugural year, the Damascus stunt team came in to win every game, and the final record was five wins and no losses. Each team they faced fought with everything they had. The last match they had was against Churchill with a final score of a 19-14 win.
