The 2024-2025 season has been a memorable one for the Damascus High School swim team, filled with record-breaking performances, personal achievements, and an impactful team spirit. This year, this team has proven what it’s like to show up and be determined to do their best no matter what challenges may come their way.
The powerhouse of the team
This team is very young, with most of them being freshmen and sophomores. That is not always a bad thing since they have time to grow and develop for their senior year on the team. The girls are already a threat, with sophomore Viona Sunjaya already having the 100 breaststroke school record as a freshman with a time of 1:04.

The regular team dinners every Friday were also important in building team spirit and achieving the season’s milestones. Beyond individual accomplishments, the leadership of the seniors played a crucial role in the underclassmen performances, mentoring and setting examples for the future.
