With Thanksgiving around the corner, The Buzz set up a survey to dig deeper into the most popular traditions that really speak the Thanksgiving spirit to many individuals. Throughout the survey, the most popular choice included traditional holiday meals. The story behind these foods derives from the America’s they used these native ingredients to provide for their feast. The prize jewel of the dinner almost always being a turkey, a popular depiction of this is “The Freedom of Want” by Norman Rockwell though also commonly known as “I’ll be Home for Christmas” by viewers. Another painting that captures the whole month of November is “Thanksgiving Dinner” by Shana Rowe Jackson. These pieces are interesting and beautiful so please go give them a look after reading.
Our second most popular choice was football, with thanksgiving also comes with three big NFL games on Thanksgiving day, making plenty of fans go out for tickets or readily watching at home. The Green Bay Packers at the Detroit Lions, the Kansas City Chiefs at the Dallas Cowboys, and the Cincinnati Bengals at the Baltimore Ravens. The Chicago Bears are slated to play at the Philadelphia Eagles on the Nov. 28 Black Friday game. So be ready to get your game face on and prepare game day snacks because it’s going down!
In third place is Black Friday! The Friday after Thanksgiving that’s all about their sales and 50% offs, dawning on Nov. 28th. Make sure to go take a look at all your favorite stores and try to catch one of their sales.
Honorable mentions include the wishing bone which is a A v-shaped bone in birds that help them fly. Legend says that if you break off the bigger piece your wish gets granted. Next up is Friendsgiving which is all about spending the holiday with your best buddies! Finally, parades, because who doesn’t love going to holiday parades. A popular nationally televised parade is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 27 at 8:30 AM on NBC and Peacock.
